Labor Day has come and gone, signaling the unofficial end of the summer and, subsequently, the end of the blockbuster season. The summer of 2013 may not have been a banner year in the eyes of critics (or the guys of the Double A Podcast) but that doesn’t mean that it was unsuccessful at the box office. In fact, 2013 was only the second year since 2000 in which seven movies made at least $200 million. (The other year? 2007.)
The fellas look at the best, worst and meh-iest of the summer season before breaking down the best of September’s movie offerings. They discuss where horror movies rank among other film genres, whether or not Ron Howard can mold Rush into a winner and their uncomfortable reactions to child kidnappings. Also: Joseph Gordon-Levitt watches porn and a TONY DANZA SIGHTING!
